Sitting here

Today's cards are made using a stamp set from the new catalogue. As soon as I saw the 'Sitting here' stamp set back in June, I knew I had to put it on my wish list and it was one of the first ones I bought on my pre-order list.

We have a tabby cat called 'Tibby' and she poses just like the cat in the card above!

The cushions, dog, cat and flower pot were all stamped on a separate piece of white card and then coloured in using an aqua painter. Although the cutting out of the stamps led to a few initial groans, the period of concentration gave a very welcome quiet period to the class. They all said the finished result was worth it!!

Z fold cards

There are lots of examples of z-fold cards on the internet, here are a few of the ones we have created in our card classes over the past couple of weeks. I would like to thank Amanda of The Craft Spa for her inspiration!

It is sometimes difficult to find enough of the same papers for everyone in the class to use so alternatives are sought. I found these papers in my stash and unfortunately are now retired. I think they are perfect for the landscape

Only a small amount of Painters Palette DSP was used for this card

All these cards were a great success in the class and a few of my ladies have even created their own at home

painters palette meets birthday blooms

This is just a quick post from me today  to show you a card we made using the new Painters Palette stamp set along with one of my favourite sets birthday Blooms

I think this is a great combination of both stamp sets. The easel was stamped in tip top taupe ink and cut out using the new layering squares framelits.

The flower was stamped on a separate piece of white card in black memento and heat embossed with clear embossing powder and then coloured in using daffodil delight and pear pizzazz stamp write markers. This piece was then stuck behind the cut out easel and the whole frame placed on dimensional pads onto the card which I had already stamped randomly with the cluster of dots stamp in pool party and crumb cake. A length of daffodil delight seam binding was placed around the bottom of the top layer and a sentiment was added to complete the card.

As you are reading this we are returning from

Bold butterflies meets bloomin heart

The card I am sharing today uses the Bloomin'
Hearts thinlits and the Bold Butterfly Framelits.   It shows you that you can use a die cut heart and turn it in to a butterfly shape with a little extra cutting!! Another way of using dies differently!

A Butterfly shape was die cut from the bold butterflies framelits in Sahara sand and a heart from bloomin heart thinlits in White was stuck on to it and then fussy cut around the edge and you have a beautiful lacy butterfly.

I

Three flowers were die cut and glued to the front of the buttefly and a few pearls  The frame was created by cutting three different sized square frames out together to get the different sized borders. The middle square was then embossed separately and a sentiment added to the bottom.
