honeycomb happiness easter cards and curvy keepsake easter chick

Happy Easter to you all.

Here is the second week of cute easter cards....

For my last full week of classes, we continued the Easter theme but this time with the modern day theme of chicks and eggs, so cute. To complete these we used one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets Honeycomb Happiness as the main focus for these cards

A cute little chick table decoration created from the very popular curvy keepsake box thinlit dies. Just the right size to hold a creme egg or chocolate bunny!

Easter cards

The next big calendar event for the year (4 day bank holiday weekend) is Easter, so for the past two weeks we have been making Easter Cards. A lot of people do not seem to send Easter Cards these days but a few of my ladies specifically asked to make some this year.

We made a couple of traditional cards in the first week and a couple of cute ones the second week.

Here are the traditional Easter Cards we made

Part of my collection of stamps is the Trefoil Cross which retired a couple of years ago. It is a lovely decorative cross which I keep coming back to for making these types of cards

I designed the card so it could be easily adapted for a sympathy or thinking of you card, which a couple of ladies did make in the session

We used one of the single flower stamps in the Birthday Blooms set for the next card and I showed the group how to mask off the flower in the centre before stamping a second and third image to create a bunch. The flowers and petals were coloured in using a blender pen with pool party and pear pizazz inks.

The background was embossed with one of the new confetti textured embossing folders.

Have a great week

rose wonder and number of years

For a recent Friday class, I was looking for something different that would use multiple techniques and provide a 3D type image. For this I choose the new 'Rose Wonder stamp' set which is so beautiful. This card was created by heat embossing the flower in silver onto some vellum, colouring the back of the flower and leaves with Blushing Bride and  Old Olive stamp write marker and layering it onto some white card.

A scalloped square in blushing bride was cut out on the big shot and then embossed with the new circles embossing folder

A similar card with the centre piece put on angle

I used the Number of Years Stamp set in Mint Macaron, rose red and hello honey inks to create the next card.

If you look closely the lilac stamp is not the one in the number of years set. Unfortunately, whilst playing with my stamps and making a few other cards,  the original lilac stamp went missing. I hunted high and low but as it is so small it must have either fell down the sink whilst cleaning or sucked up by the hoover. Note to self when using small stamps to be extra careful!

Gatefold botanicals for you mothers day card and gift

Wherever you go in the world, you will always find a Botanical Garden. Therefore it is no surprise that Stampin-Up have devloped a new stamp set called 'Botanicals for you' which is full of flowers and foliage.

This is one of the popular free stamp sets you get for spending £45 during the current Sale-a-bration. It is a lovely set containing 9 stamps (4 sentiments and 5 flower and foliage designs). If you havent managed to get one so far, there is still time, Sale-a-bration doesnt end until 31st March 2016.

We used it in the class recently to create a gatefold card and co-ordinating gift box.

For this card we just used the 5 flower and foliage stamps to stamp around the edge of  a circle to try and recreate a wreath which was backed onto a sponged tea lace doily.

We even stamped the middle of the card for extra decoration

A matching little gift bag which we filled with a few chocolates

Another variation of the card with different sentiment and ribbon

mothers day 3 step card Grateful bunch

For those Mums out there, Happy Mother's Day to you all today.

Here is the card I made for my mum using the 'Grateful Bunch bundle' and some paper from the Botanical Garden pack.

It may look plain on the outside, but hopefully the inside makes up for it, which is what is important when the card is on display.

I have been wanting to make a stair step card for quite a while. I have seen quite a few of these lately online  and decided to have a go.

I was quite pleased with the finished result, what do you think?

Number of years card in a box

I set the ladies a challenge last week to create a card in a box using the number of years stamps and framelits, and a mixture of balloon and stars punches in a colour combination of  Bermuda Bay, Pistachio Pudding and Wisteria Wonder

You may remember I made a similar one for my husbands 50th birthday in black, gold and silver combination you can view it Here

There were quite a few elements to the card which involved lots of punching out of the various colours for the stars and balloons and sticking them to acetate strips, as well as making up the actual box, butI think the hardest and longest part was trying to get the red backing off the extra strong tape!
The sides and flaps of the box were randomly stamped with the stars and ball from the balloon celebration stamp set in Silver metallic and Bermuda Bay ink

I chose the colour combination which would be suitable for sending to either a male or female, adult or child.

Here are photos of some of the ladies finished cards.

What a lovely job they all made of their projects. Don't you agree?
