Guy Greetings and Sprinkles of Life Slider cards

Hi there,  I hope you all had a lovely weekend and looking forward to some beautiful sunshine over the next few days. I know I am, getting ready for my holiday next month. After all the tragedy on the news over the weekend, with the events in Tunisia, Kuwait and France, I will be pleased when Paul is home. You just can't believe there are people out there who can do such a thing and you never know what's around the corner. I'm just pleased I can do crafting from the comfort of my 4 walls.

Last week was a very hectic week, with my 3 usual card classes, a workshop party and I've been busily crafting away in the craft room making cards with some of the fantastic new products from the catalogue. I will be sharing them with you over the coming few weeks.

Today I am showing the class cards from this week and finally I will be up to date and caught up. We made two slider cards in different variations, one suitable for a male and one for a female. When the tags are pulled the car/tree slide to reveal the sentiment

When first planning the male variation of the slider card I had only the retired stamp set called 'Rev up the Fun' in my collection and so I used the sports car for the main image.  There is a new stamp set in the catalogue called  Guy Greetings which contains 22 male themed images and sentiments. This  was on my wish list for the last few weeks  but with the launch of the new catalogue, other items such as in-colour card, inks etc took a priority.

To my surprise last weekend, I received this stamp set in the post as a gift from my lovely upline Zoe.  I was delighted with my present and would like to thank her very much.  I then went back into the craftroom and created another card with the vintage car from the set, so my ladies in the class had an alternative car to choose from.

The new Brick Embossing folder makes an excellent background for these types of cards

The female version of the slider card uses the lovely RMHC Stamp set 'Sprinkles of Life'  in a colour combination of:

 Pool Party,
Mint Macaron,
Pink Pirouette
Baked Brown Sugar

The front of the card was randomly stamped with the little flower and sprinkles stamps from the set creating a co-ordinating patterned background paper

This set is so versatile and its great there is a co-ordinating punch to make the cutting out much easier!

I will be back soon sharing some more crafty makes ...

Happy Hour Circle flip card and watermelon sprinkles of life

Happy Tuesday to you all and hope you had a lovely weekend. I am almost caught up now with sharing the class cards. I feel I have neglected my blog a little and haven't been able to get into my craft room as much as I would have liked. Regular readers of my blog will know we have had a very busy and hectic few months recently with renovating our kitchen and conservatory in between my husband travelling back and forth to Saudi Arabia with work.  However, the project is almost complete now, there are still a few things that need to be done but they can be finished over the next few weeks....

Back to crafting, these are the cards we made last week, the first card uses one of the new stamp sets from the 2015 Annual Catalogue called Sprinkles of Life, whilst the second card uses a couple of retired sets called Happy Hour and Cheers for You

Each year Stampin' Up! launches a stamp set which helps Ronald McDonald houses in the UK.  For each set purchased, they donate £2.00 to these houses.  This year's set is called Sprinkles of Life,  it is a photopolymer set containing 22 stamps for only £19.00. There is also a matching brand new punch called Tree Builder at £15.50
Each year Stampin' Up! has a stamp set designated as the Ronald McDonald House Charities set.  For each set purchased, they donate $3.00 to RMHC.  This year's set, Sprinkles Of Life couldn't be any cuter!  Plus, it matches a brand new punch called Tree Builder.  - See more at: http://dostamping.typepad.com/dostamping_with_dawn/2015/06/vip-sneak-peek-rmhc-sprinkles-of-life-cupcake-.html#sthash.PZiwqDE7.dpuf

The second card uses the circle thinlits die run through the big shot to make a flip card.

I gave each of the ladies a choice of embellishing the cards with either daffodil delight or soft sky colours and a choice of stamping cocktails for a ladies card or a beer glass for a  man.

Majority of the ladies chose the Beer glass card. The frothy foam was created by using some liquid applique which I found in my stash. This was drawn onto the stamped image and then heated with a heat gun. It then puffs up to make the beer 3D

World of Dreams and Build a birthday

I had lots of lovely comments about the beautiful colour of the previous card done in Elegant eggplant I decided to use the same colours for the following weeks class card.

The card was made with quite a few layers again in elegant eggplant and whisper white using a dots embossing folder for the background and a die from creative expressions for the gorgeous oval lace effect in the centre

One of the images were used from the World of Dreams stamp set which we coloured in first with Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Wild Wasabi marker pens before stamping it on to the card

The daisy flowers are again from a range of dies from Creative Expressions and all the edges were inked with Wild Wasabi before layering up and placing to the bottom left of the card.

The begining of June brought us the new Annual Catalogue which was packed with lots of new fabulous products to work with. One of the advantages of being a demonstrator is being able to pre-order items before the catalogue is launched. The following card was made with one of those stamp sets I purchased called Build a Birthday using the New In-colours. This is a Photopolymer stamp set and it's priced at just £14.95 which is amazing value!

We stamped the cake plate twice in Tip Top Taupe, once on the white layer of the card then again on a separate piece which we handcut and added dimensionals, sticking over the top of the original image. The cake layers were again stamped separately and cut out and layered up with dimensionals and the flags on the top were stamped directly onto the white card

The flowers are punched from the little Bitty Flower Punch, I use it so often and it is part of a set of three punches, the others being a Star and Heart at £15.50

I have made quite a few cards to show how versatile this stamp set can be and will be uploading them to my blog over the next few weeks.

Painted petals large 7" square card

It is always good to come out of your comfort zone once in a while, and this is what I did recently for the following card. I have seen lots of larger cards on the internet recently and never made one to teach in a class before.

I used the retired painted petals stamps set to create a background paper using Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz colour combination onto whisper white card. It was layered up with Elegant Eggplant and an embossed piece of whisper white using the Lovely Lace embossing Folder.

A few circles in different sizes were punched out in the centre and layered up again, finishing with a stamped image in the middle

I received some flower and leaf dies from Creative Expressions for my birthday which I was eager to use and I think is an ideal placement on this card

A couple of sentiments and a Butterfly finishes off the card perfectly

Although we only made the one card in the class, it was so intricate it took the whole two hours to complete, but feedback from all the ladies was that they enjoyed the class and loved the card.

If anyone reading my blog would like to attend one of my classes, either weekly or monthly and join in the fun of creating exquisite cards like above in a friendly environment, the cost is £7.50 per session and includes all materials and tuition. They are suitable for beginners and experienced crafters and are held at my home in Stallingborough.

More Moon lake and painted petals cards

Good morning to you all, today  I am sharing some more class cards created a couple of weeks ago featuring the Moon Lake and Painted Petals stamp sets. This is the last in the series of cards made from these sets and unfortunately both stamp sets have now retired
I have used these sets several times over the past few months and really like the images and cards they have created.

Well done to all those people who bought these stamps, they are a definite keeper for me  and will not be on my 'for sale' list in the very near future

We created our own background paper by randomly stamping the flowers and leaves over the whisper white card in Blackberry Bliss, Rose Red and Pear Pizzazz ink. The scalloped topper tag punch was used to create the 'Happy Birthday' label on the front.

Beautiful bunch flower pot and moon lake stepper card

Below I am sharing a couple of cards we made a few weeks ago. A flower pot card and a centre stepper card.

The flower pot design was created using a strip of baked brown sugar card  a couple of folds and inked with the Hardwood stamp and edged with a border punch.  The flowers are from the beautiful bunch stamp and punch set.

The flowers slide out of the pot to reveal a sentiment/greeting

An extra strip of card was folded in half lengthways and one side was stuck to the back of the flower pot so it could stand up.

A centre stepper card using  the bird image stamped from the Moon Lake stamp set, unfortunately this set has now retired. The image was coloured in using an aqua painter and marker pens.

I will be back soon sharing some more class cards

New Kitchen

What a difference a few weeks make!!! My new fabulous kitchen is now near completion, in less than 3 weeks. The timescale was fixed, because Paul had less than 3 weeks at home and he didn't want to leave me in a mess, bless him :-). Here are a few photos

Paul worked solidly before and after the builders had finished knocking the wall out and plastering the walls to install the kitchen before heading back to Saudi Arabia last Thursday.  There are still a few things left to finish off but they will have to wait a few more weeks until he returns. Initially Paul was gutted, when he only received £250 for the old one (his pride and joy, I think) but it had to go. I think when he removed it, he realised it had served us well over the last 15 years!...

He even found time to send me some flowers whilst he is away xx

Crafting has taken a bit of a back seat whilst the renovations and cleaning up process have been going on although my classes have still continued. Hopefully, I will be back on track next week catching up with blogging and planning future classes
