Endless wishes and white christmas slider card

Hi from France,
I never thought I would be making my Christmas cards this year in the peaceful surroundings of the french countryside in one of the main wine regions of Alsace. Well I am and have converted Paul's hotel room into a craftroom for that purpose. I also have the added advantage of the hotel being a SPA, to provide a well deserved break.

The main reason for coming here, was not the wine (although I have sampled a  few) but the fabulous Christmas markets I had read about and of course for Paul to visit and work at the Cristal site in Thann for a week.
This trip was on the back of a very hectic craft weekend, starting with a card class on Thursday at The Craft Cabin in Brigg and  my weekly class on Friday afternoon where we made the horizontal slider card below.

The slider can be pulled out revealing a different theme or picture telling a story!

and then revealing a sentiment at the end!

On Saturday I had the class to transform the muffin tin ,shown in a previous blog, into a reusable advent calendar. Using magnetic colour co-ordinated card, each muffin space (and surprise chocolate or gift) was masked with a Christmas symbol and unique number.

We even got to sample some dates (some for the first time) which Paul had brought back from Saudi Arabia.

The photo above shows the chocolates underneath the coloured magnetic covers!

I will be back soon with some more projects to share

Holiday Home Village scene card in a box

Remember the flower card in a box  I made for a 50th birthday back in March, well, the same design is back, but this time with a Christmas village theme. This is a great card, that looks very impressive and expensive, yet still fits in an envelope flat for posting. We all had fun making this card in the classes this week.

.

The foreground is made up of a silhouette of trees and houses with a backdrop of santa, sleigh and reindeers. We have used the festival of trees and holiday home stamps sets.  I love the cute santa and reindeers  flying above the houses.

The houses and sentiment were stamped in versamark and heat embossed in white onto different coloured card and a few embellishments  of silver stars, snowflakes and sequins were added. The colours co-ordinate very well with the All is Calm designer series paper

Thanks for looking and I will be back soon with some more projects to share

Gift wrapping, boxes and curvy keepsake die

I received a phone call out of the blue last week following a 50th Birthday party we attended. A lady had made enquiries from the birthday girl (well almost) about who gave the best wrapped/decorated present and she said me.

The task was to wrap Christmas Presents, in a manner that was better than ordinary, but I only had 3 days.

To help me in the challenge, I asked Leanne and I’m pleased I did!!!!!!.

When we arrived at the house, we were met with boxes and boxes of gifts in every room, over 300 in total. Some were to be wrapped in multiples and other’s on their own.

The challenge was on...

We brought all the gifts home and started on the task….

8 hours later, we were still not finished, but I also made boxes etc. to disguise the small ones, using my Stampin' Up! gift box punch board, which for me added the final touch.

Can you spot the snowman box in the above photo….. These are made using
the curvy keepsake die and we have orders for over 200 of these in 5 different designs. I will be posting photos over the next few days of a new design of a cute little reindeer. If you would like one or more of the boxes, they are still available. £1.50 each or 4 for £5.  Just contact me or Leanne………
I also mentioned I make cards…. So in the 3 days, I was also asked to make two special cards (both had to be different) with a Christmas theme and using poinsettias…. The lady was over the moon with the finished cards, and came complete with matching gift boxes to hold them.

All I can say is, the lady made it worth our time….thank you xx
If you would like any parcels wrapping, gift boxes making, special cards, or the curvy keepsake boxes please contact me at lgilbert66@gmail.com or telephone 07793293599. At least a week’s notice is beneficial please…….
