Baby we've grown easter cards

As promised I'm back with a couple of quick Easter cards made using the 'baby we've grown' stamp set.

These can be made in any colour and are so easy to individualise in your own style. They are great for all ages and can even be used to create a wildlife or garden theme. Let your imagination run wild.

These bunnies are also much easier to clean/keep as pets, than the real thing, so why not treat yourself. I think I would prefer them if they were chocolate and edible though.......

Just a reminder there are only 5 more days left of Sale-a-bration to get some freebies for every £45 spend.

Sweet Baby, we've grown!

Hi everyone,

Looking through my selection of cards I realised we hadn't made or shared any 'baby' cards so I inked up the new 'Baby, we've grown' stamp set, from the Spring/Summer catalogue (wood £21.95/ clear £17.95) and set to work making a few cards

Here are the three of the cards we made in our classes over the past couple of weeks. We made one in soft sky, one in pink pirouette and one in pistachio pudding.

Look at the cute little shoes, I even tied some little bows in white bakers twine on them

The shoes were stamped in versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to make them shiny. They were then coloured in with a pink pirouette stampin' writer marker and blender pen

The row of rabbits was created by using a masking technique and stamping each one individually

The feedback from the classes was excellent and you never know when you might need a card like this for a new family member or someone else you know.

The stamp set is great for all the early years, with a selection themes, which can be used year after year. The owls could be used for a graduation card or the 'Brand New' sentiment for a new home card..... I  have used the cute little rabbit on some easter cards, which I will share with you later.

Watch my blog for more exciting designs with this stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Make & Take Day using envelope punch board and new scalloped tag topper punch

It was great to see so many people at Saturday's 'Make and Take' workshop at Running with Scissors. Most people came and stayed all day, having fun and crafting whilst eating cakes and drinking coffee or tea.

We had a raffle for some Stampin' Up! goodies, which was won by Yvonne and Jan.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made the day a success, and a huge thank you to my mum who was a great help and to Tracey who makes everyone so welcome and the hospitality and support was 5 star.

The projects made were a cracker, a favour box and two cards.

Both the cracker and the favour box were made with the envelope punch board

The new scalloped topper tag punch was used  to create one of the cards

Stamp sets used in the cards are Happy watercolour and Petite petals

If that wasn't enough excitement for the weekend, I had also booked a stall at a Spring Craft Fair at Lucarly's in Humberston. This was a complete contrast to the day before as we were able to sit down and rest our feet for most of the day!!

I sold numerous Easter items, with the bird houses & owl post-it note holders being the most popular.

Following the success of Saturday's workshop, I am starting monthly card classes at Running with Scissors, the first one being on Saturday 19th April  10.00am - 12.00pm. Spaces are already filling up, so if you would like to reserve a place, either contact me on 07793293599 or email - lgilbert66@gmail.com  or contact Tracey at Running with Scissors.

That's all for now, I am going for a little rest!!

Happy Watercolor Scallop Top Tag Concertina Card

We made this beautiful concertina card using the new scallop top tag punch in our monthly card class a couple of weeks ago

It was made with just one piece of card  which was equally folded into four sections.

I used whisper white card as the base and layered it with Pistachio pudding and Pool party card. It was decorated using a combination of stamps (Happy Watercolour and Perfect Pennants) the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Banner Blast Stamps and matching Punch. All these products are from the Spring/summer catalogue or the freebies from Sale-a-Bration. I also used the bitty butterfly, itty bitty punches and summer starfruit stitched satin ribbon

The Happy Watercolor was stamped onto the two tags with black stazon and coloured in with my Stampin' Write Markers. I left some space on the last tag to write a message.

This card could be used as a special birthday card or even Mother's Day.

Our next monthly Stallingborough card class is on Sunday 23rd March and Monday 24th March, 10am - 12pm. Please contact me if you would like to come to the class and have some fun making your own cards. We will be making two birthday cards but both of the designs could easily be adapted as a Mother's Day card

Dont forget the Make & Take event on Saturday 15th March between 11.00am  and 3.00pm at Running with Scissors, Grimsby

I will be demonstrating some papercraft projects using Stampin' Up! products and Make & Takes will be available for you to do. There will be four items to choose from and only £1 each project

Why not make it a date on your calendar ...

Get well and Valentines cards

Today, I have a couple of cards that I haven't shared with you yet from a few weeks ago.

I was asked by the ladies from the Friday class if we could make a valentine's card and a get well card. I created the following card which was easily adapted for either occasion.

The base of the card was the same. Real red with a layer of whisper white. A couple of strips of gold washi tape and one of the adorning accents embossing folder in between and some gold bakers twine. The background was stamped with the gorgeous grunge stamp set in gold encore metallic ink

For the valentine card we stamped a heart in real red ink from the 'Language of Love' stamp set and layered it on to a crinkled heart in real red card which was rolled out on the big shot from the hearts a flutter framelits. The sentiment is from 'Hello, Lovely' stamp set

For the Get well version, 5 flowers from Petite Petals, were stamped and punched in real red and gold ink and a gold sequin was added to the middle of the flowers. The sentiment is from the 'Sincere Salutations' stamp set (retired) punched out with the scallop oval

50th Birthday Flower shop double card in a box

This is one of the cards we made at a recent class, which I haven’t shared yet and doesn’t need a lot of explanation. 'The Box in a card' is a 3D card that collapses flat in an envelope for ease of packaging, prevents damage in transit and cheap postage. It reminds me of the pop-up books I had as a child….

There are lots of variations of these on the internet, but here are the 2 I made in class, that  are just perfect when you need a special card, that is unique and different and you can add your own touch of class. It is also fun to make….

Both of my sister-in-laws celebrated a special (maybe not to them though!) their 50th birthday last week and I just knew I had to make one each for them (Obviously I had to include the big 50). They were both thoroughly amazed by the design and detail.

I used a variety of stamps including Mixed Bunch, Flower Shop and Petite Petals for the flowers and the leaves were rolled out on the big shot with the secret garden framelits. I also used the papillon potpourri butterflies, circle and scalloped circle punches and label love stamps

I hope you like my versions of the card in a box

If there is enough demand, I can even put on another class. Please let me know if you are interested?
