Birthday cascade card and gift holder

It was our youngest daughter Leanne's 20th birthday, last week and I made this cascade card for her.

I had seen several variations of this card on the internet and was so surprised how much fun and easy it was to make.

Card: Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White,
Paper: New in-Colour Designer Series Paper Stack, (pistachio pudding)
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, pistachio pudding
Stamps: All Dressed Up, papillon potpourri, bring on the cake,
Tools: labels collection framelits, bitty butterfly punch, elegant butterfly punch, dress up framelits, petals-a-plenty embossing folder
Embellishments: Crisp Cantaloupe ruffle stretch ribbon, simply pressed clay and mould, rhinestones

We had a team meeting at Zoe's last week and we all made a small gift holder using one of the new in colours, coastal cabana,  modern medley papers and the pansy punch.  I love these papers and they are still on offer until the end of August,  Buy 3 get 1 FREE!

I completed it  with a sentiment from 'Bring on the cake' stamp set and put some money in it for a perfect gift.

Wedding Congratulations card and box

Hi Everyone,  I  hope you are all enjoying the last Bank Holiday before Christmas?  I'm here again to share a couple of projects from last week's classes, a congratulations card and matching box which would be suitable for a wedding or engagement

White pearlised card was used throughout along with a variety of punches and embossing folders to create the finished look.

Silver glimmer paper was used with some pearls for the middles of the flowers.

We also made a matching box, again with pearlised card and punches.

We all enjoyed making these, the only stressful part was making sure the  'congratulations' was stamped in the middle!!

Owl graduation and simply stars

'Congratulations'  was the theme for last week's cards. As you can see I created two very different cards.  With examination results being released shortly I wanted to come up with a special card to congratulate all those students.

For the first card I used the owl builder punch. Isn't he cute? The beauty of this card is that you can customize the colours of the card stock to reflect the school, college or university colors.

The second card uses the new stamp set 'Simply Stars' which includes 4 beautiful stamps.
Simply stars stampin up stampinup order pretty card ideas
These make very easy cards, however, the downside is they have to be cut out by hand as there is no available matching punch! I don't know about you but I find cutting out very therapeutic.

Colour combination is Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate

Chevron embossing folder for the background.

I have also used the 'Tape it' stamp set. 'Tape it' is a fantastic selection of 8 washi tape style designs so you can make quick and easy cards in any colour combination. The tape stamps have imperfect ends which look like you have just torn it off the roll!

Backgrounds using Acrylic block technique

Hello there, I am back to share the cards we made at the  acrylic block technique classes on Saturday and Monday.

We all had a great time 'playing' with ink and at one time I think i had more ink on my hands than on the card!!

We used a combination of marker pens, ink pads and re-inkers to create fantastic backgrounds using the acrylic block D.

The background for the first card was very simple to create.  We coloured the acrylic block with one of the Stampin' Up! markers and then spritzed it with water before stamping the block onto some whisper white card. Wait for a few seconds before lifting the block for the ink to penetrate onto the card. Each one we did was very different to the next

Cardstock: Coastal cabana, so saffron, whisper white
Stamps: Serene silhouettes, just believe (sentiment)
Ink: Coastal cabana, crisp cantaloupe, daffodil delight reinker
Miscellaneous: Acryclic Block D, Simply pressed clay and moulds, Grosgrain stitched whisper white ribbon, bitty butterfly punch, dazzling diamond glitter, 2013/2014 in colour marker pen, spritzer

For the second card we used two different coloured marker pens, coastal cabana and pistachio pudding to colour the acrylic block. The block was spritzed again with some water before stamping it onto the white card.

This time the colours blended together to form different shades of green and blue.  The upsy daisy stamp from the Best of Flowers stamps set was stamped in Gumball green on top of the newly created background.

Cardstock:  Island Indigo, whisper white
Stamps: Best of Flowers, Teeny tiny wishes
Ink: Gumball Green
Miscellaneous: Acryclic Block D,  dazzling diamond glitter, 2013/2014 in colour marker pens, coastal cabana and pistachio pudding, gumball green stitched satin ribbo, spritzer

The final card took a little longer to create as there were quite a few more parts to either stamp or punch out.

We used three coloured ink pads this time, indigo island, pear pizzazz and daffodil delight and stamped them directly onto the acrylic block.

Again it was spritzed with water and the block stamped onto some whisper white card. It created a 'sea' background

Cardstock:  Island Indigo, whisper white, crumb cake, night of navy
Stamps: Open sea, Teeny tiny wishes
Ink: Night of Navy, crumb cake
Miscellaneous: Acryclic Block D,  word window punch, 1 1/2 inch circle punch, twine, spritzer

We created the final background as a topper using re-inkers. This is where it became messy!!

A few drops of strawberry slush and daffodil delight were placed around the acrylic block.  Some celophane wrapping was scrunched up and the ink was patted to distribute the colour over the block.  The block was spritzed with water and then the block was stamped onto whisper white card to create yet another fantastic background.  This time we used the Lovely as a Tree stamp set inked in Stazon Black ink.
Try these techniques for yourself, they are so quick and easy and you will be amazed at the results!!

Until next time

Stampin' Up! Best of 25 years - Best of Flowers

Hi everyone,  Happy Monday to you and hope you all had a good weekend. Today I am sharing some cards we made in the classes last week.

The first card uses one of the flowers from the Best of Flowers stamp set with a colour combination of crumb cake, whisper white and soft blue.

The two patterned papers are from designer series paper stacks. The image was stamped in black Stazon and then painted with an aqua painter in pear pizzazz, soft blue and crumb cake.  A few dots of silver glitter dazzling details were added to the flower to make it sparkle. The card was finished off with some crumb cake seam binding ribbon

For the next card we used a technique call 'reverse spot lighting'

A piece of Crisp cantaloupe and pistachio pudding card were matted and layered together. One of the stamps from the Flower Shop set and one from the Mixed Bunch were randomly stamped onto a piece of So Saffron card in co-ordinating ink

Three holes were punched from the card through parts of the flowers using the 1 1/4" circle punch.  Three more flowers were inked and stamped separately on to whisper white in crisp cantaloupe ink and punched out with the co-ordinating and placed behind the holes matching up the flower petals

Centres of the flowers, some ribbon and sentiment were then added to finish the card.

Thanks for looking
