All Dressed Up

For our Tuesday crafty get together last week we created a plaque from the Creative Expressions Project Book. It was supposed to have be an artist theme but as we didn't have some of the materials required we changed it what we had available

It was an ideal opportunity to play with my Dress Up Framelits again. We all had a great time designing the dresses, creating the plaque and sharing materials and equipment. Margaret gave us all a section of an old tape measure which was cut up and the edges were inked in crumb cake to make it look worn. The beautiful chandelier was a stamp  from Anita and the papers used were from Tracey.

A circle of mirror card was put in the centre of a soda pop top to make it look like a mirror.

A piece of Early Expresso card was hand cut into the shape of a cotton bobbin and some lace was wrapped around. The buttons are neutral designer buttons. I found some pins and gold scissors in my stash to complete the picture

I thoroughly enjoyed doing this project and it inspired me to made a similar one as a birthday card.

I didn't have an old  tape measure so I found one on the internet and printed it out and inked it with crumb cake

The background paper was from Attic Boutique designer series paper (retired) and the dresses were from Elegant Soiree (retired)

I found a little plastic cotton bobbin and cut it in half and wrapped some bakers twine around and again stuck a couple of pins in the back.

i hope you like what I have created with the framelits and I am sure I will be using more of them again

All Dressed Up!

I have been playing with the new Dress Framelits and stamps which are featured in the Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue and absolutely love them. It has taken me back to my childhood when I can remember how much I loved paper dolls.  I used to get a magazine with doll templates and would cut out each outfit carefully and then try each outfit on my paper doll.

The Dress Up Framelit dies are £20.95 and the matching stamps are £19.95 (wood mounted) and £15.95 (clear mount) but you can buy them together as a bundle at £34.50 (wood) and £30.95 (clear) which is a saving of 15%!

I have seen lots of inspirational ideas on the internet and these are the cards I have made:-

A black dress form was cut out of one of the dress up framelits and the sleeveless dress was cut out of Rich Razzleberry Card and placed on top.

The flared skirt was created by pleating some paper from the print poetry designer series paper stack using the scoring tool and folding it like a fan.

The colour combination of this card is So Saffron, Midnight Muse and Gumball Green.  The Dress was stamped in Midnight Muse and the patterned paper is from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper stack

I will be back later to share some more cards I have made using the Dress Framelits and Card Base Pop n'Cuts

I demonstrated two cards both using products which were FREE from the Sale-a-bration. This is the first card

I used a combination of  Midnight Muse, Gumball Green and Very Vanilla colours.

A couple of sheets were used from the print poetry designer series stack and 9 shapes were punched out using the petite curly punch and attached  to some very vanilla card. I then run this through the fancy fan embossing folder to create the textured pattern.

Gumball green stitched satin ribbon was wrapped around the bottom

Three more shapes from the petite curly punch were cut out. The sentiment was stamped separately using the itty bitty banners and placed on to of two of the shapes

Bloomin' marvelous tri-shutter card

Hello there today I am sharing the card we made in the classes this week.  It is a tri-shutter card which I created for mother's day.

We used a combination of Rose red, pool party and lucky limeade colours.

This sentiment is from the You are Loved stamp set

The patterned paper was created by stamping the flower, butterfly and leaves from the Bloomin' Marvelous Stamp Set (one of the sets FREE from Sale-a-bration) randomly over some very vanilla card and then cut down and matted and layered onto the pool party.Three separate flowers were stamped and cut out in pool party and placed onto three of the panels.

Four of the panels were embossed using the vintage wallpaper embossing folder

The butterflies were stamped using a baby wipe and re-inkers. This technique gained me a few wows!!

The letters were cut using the timeless type alphabel sizzlits which have now unfortunately retired

A few of my ladies swapped a couple of the sentiments and made some beautiful birthday cards instead

This is a view of the card laid flat

Here are the cards we made in Friday afternoon's card class. We used the Feeling Sentimental stamp set from sale-a-bration for some men cards

Some early expresso card was embossed with the argyle embossing folder and torn down one edge and placed onto some  First edition speciality paper

A smaller label was cut  and stamped with En Francais in crumb cake as a background and then the penny farthing was stamped in black on top. It was layered on top of the previously cut out label and pierced around the edge using the festive paper piercing pack

Hearts a Flutter

Good Morning to you all, I am sharing a couple of cards we made in our Friday afternoon card class. They are similar to some designs I posted a couple of weeks ago but I have changed the colours and stamps

They are cards which can be used for either Valentine's Day or anniversaries.

The first one uses a color combination of rose red, pool party and whisper white. The lovely crinkle edged heart is from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set from the new Spring/Summer mini.
I have used a combination of pool party and whisper white for the next card.

The heart collection framelits were used to cut the heart out of the middle and placed it at the side.

A strip of the speciality designer series paper More Amore has been used on the back

That's all for now, until next time

Blossom Wall Hanging

This week's project on a Tuesday afternoon was a wall hanging designed by Hels Sheridan from the Creative Expressions Project Book. This is my version of it

When I first looked at the book I studied it for quite a while as this is something I hadn't done before and I couldn't think of a colour scheme or theme for the quote.

Once I had picked the colour scheme, things started to become easier. Thank you to Tracey, Anita, Margaret and Beryl for use of papers, dies and embellishments.

We used mountboard cut to various sizes and covered them
with papers and inked the edges

The butterfly was stamped using Papillon Potpourri stamp set in White Stazon onto acetate and punched using the elegant butterfly and new bitty butterfly and a safety pin to fasten the two together. The sentiment was stamped in pool party from the Affection Collection and the words were printed from the computer

6 flowers were punched from the Blossom Punch spritzed with water and scrunched up and fastened with a brad to create the flower. A cream acrylic rose button was inserted in the middle.  I then spritzed the flower with some shimmer spray

Heart Collection Framelits

Hello there, I am sharing our makes from workshops I held on Saturday afternoon and Monday morning.

As soon as I saw the Heart Framelits in the catalogue I knew what sort of card I would like to make.  I made the single easel heart card as previously shown on my blog but wanted to go a step further so I made it into a triple easel card.

I first made it in pink, white and crumb cake and then thought it would make an excellent wedding, anniversary or engagement card so I made another one in white and silver

The ladies had a choice of which colour they wished to make.

We cut several hearts in varying sizes from the heart collection framelits, used the paper piercing tool and the occasions paper piercing pack to piece holes around the edges of the hearts and assembled them altogether The sentiments were stamped in either silver or crumb cake and heat  embossed with clear embossing powder.

The card was embellished with butterflies,  flowers and rhinestones.

We also made these little matching gift holders and I gave them a little silver and white bag with a chocolate caramel bunny inside to put behind the heart.

Supplies Used: (All Stampin Up! Unless Otherwise Stated)
1. Card –Pink Pirouette, White pearlised card, Crumb Cake
