Hearts easel card and affection collection

We have been having a few problems with our internet at the moment. The connection is very intermittent and is becoming frustrating. Whenever I try to upload onto my blog there is no connection and have to keep coming back to it. So apologies if the posts are sporadic, I will continue to upload when possible.

Here are the cards we made at Running with Scissors on Thursday afternoon.

We used the hearts collection framelits to cut out some pink pirouette card to make the heart easel card. Various layers in pink pirouette and whisper white were cut and either embossed with vintage wallpaper folder or stamped and heat embossed using the heart from the You are Loved stamp set

The occasions paper piercing pack is from the new mini catalogue which is out on 1st February and used to create the holes around the edges of the pink hearts. Boho blossoms and elegant butterfly punch were also used as embellishments. Can you spot a small piece of silver glimmer paper peeking behind the second pink heart?

The second card used a colour combination of rose red, pool party, pink pirouette and whisper white

The Stamp set used is Affection Collection and will no longer be available after today, Thursday 31st January. It is part of the Autumn/Winter seasonal catalogue

Affection Collection

Due to the snowy weather over the last couple of weeks I had to cancel  a couple of card classes. Fortunately the snow has now disappeared and the classes were rescheduled to this week.

These are the cards we made:-

For the first two cards we used the Affection Collection stamp set from the Autumn/Winter seasonal mini catalogue which is due to end tomorrow,  Thursday 31st January

Colour combination is pink pirouette,  crumb cake and whisper white.

We used the delicate design folders at the top and bottom of the pink card to create a beautiful border. Two pieces of card, one in pink and the other in white were cut using the hearts collection framelits, the white one was stamped with the Love in crumb cake.

Paper piercing tool and essentials paper piercing pack was used to create the holes. All edges were sponged with crumb cake

The next card uses crumb cake and whisper white colours.  The Delicate doilies sizzlits were used to die cut a crumb cake doily, a 2 1/2 inch circle was stamped and punched and layered on top with a sentiment

The third card is ideal to send to those we love as a Valentine Card and uses a colour combination of white, black and red.

The heart was cut out of the centre with the hearts collection framelits and a piece of patterned designer series paper placed on the inside of the card so it can be seen through the hole.

The sentiment was stamped from the My Little Valentine stamp set which unfortunately can no longer be purchased.

Need for speed

Hi there, I am back today to share the cards we made in our Friday afternoon card class.

I have had a lot of requests for mens cards,  I, like many others, find designing mens cards quite challenging, one of the reasons is  I feel I cannot embellish them with  flowers or butterflies but they still need to be decorative.

I used Need for Speed stamp set and designed the following with men in mind.
One of the trees from Lovely as a tree stamp set was stamped in Crumb cake for the background .

The car was stamped in black stazon on a separate piece of very vanilla card, coloured with watercolour pencils, cut out and put on top with dimensionals

The cloud background was created by punching out a scallop circle in card. We used the scallop circle as a template and sponged around the sides with bashful blue all over the whisper white card to create the clouds. The aeroplane was stamped directly onto the whisper white card with black stazon and again coloured in with watercolour pencils.

Supplies Used: (All Stampin Up! Unless Otherwise Stated)

Stamps – Need for speed, teeny tiny wishes, For my family
Embellishments – Rhinestones
paper- Whisper white, Very vanilla, Not quite navy, Early Expresso, Well worn designer series paper (retired)
Tools – Scallop edge border punch, Scallop trim punch, Scallop circle punch , word window punch, modern label punchMediums – Crumb cake ink, bashful blue, black stazon, white gel pen, watercolour pencils

Here is a sneak peak of an upcoming class on Saturday 2nd February  1pm - 4pm and repeated again on Monday 4th February 10am - 1.00pm

We will be using the Framelit Hearts collection dies to create a beautiful 3 layered heart easel card and a matching gift holder.

I have made two cards, one in pink and one in white and you can choose which colour you would like to make. They would make an excellent Wedding, Anniversary or Engagement card

The cost of the class will be £14 to include all materials and light refreshments, but if you make a purchase of £45 on the day, the class is reduced to just £6.

Please contact me if you would like to make one of these gorgeous projects. Please remember Sale-a-bration is on for the next 2 months, and for every £45 spent you receive a choice of FREE gift.

Memorable Moments

I regularly meet up with a few friends on a Tuesday afternoon for a crafting get together. One of our friends, Anita, bought us all a lovely book from Creative Expressions featuring some beautiful and inspirational projects for us all to work through each week.

The first project we embarked upon is a card designed by Sue Wilson. We substituted some of the items with those we had in our stash and this is my version. I made the card for my niece who is 21 today

The sentiment stamp, numbers and dies are all from Stampin' Up. The textured background was created from tissue paper. The roses were gifts from Anita and the net from Beryl, thank you.
