thinlits circle card

Morning everyone! I hope you are all ready for that big day in a couple of days time. We had a lovely afternoon yesterday, visiting the local church for a carol service which was then followed on by singing some more at  'Carols in the Barn' in our village to get us all in the Christmas mood. Although it was a bit cold, there was mulled wine and mince pies to keep us warm.

We celebrated our last card class of 2013 at Keelby with a little christmas party. We listened to Michael Buble on cd and enjoyed eating some festive nibbles. We still had time to create these two cards

Cherry cobbler card and ink, old olive ink and card, festive flurry stamps and framelits, washi tape, word window, modern label and scallop trim border punches
I have been waiting to play with the new circle thinlits die (133480) for a while now and finally had the chance to make a card with it. The die cuts out a whole card, and even better, it's a flip card!

I was surprised at how easy and quick it was to complete the card.

Cherry cobbler card and ink, wishing you stamp set, scallop circle, thinlits circle card, season of style designer series paper

Until next time, thanks for stopping by ....

Festive flurry card in a box

The Christmas tree was up in time for the last class I did at home and we celebrated with mince pies and chocolates.

We made this beautiful card in a box which was the inspiration from a fellow Stampin' Up demonstrator Monica. Here is a link to her website with a fabulous tutorial and easy to follow instructions

What I love about this card is that it actually  folds down flat and just fits into a 6 x 6" envelope., but if you can't bare to part with it, it also makes a wonderful Christmas decoration

I gave everyone a choice of either using baked brown sugar or cherry cobbler as the base. We then decorated the sides of the box with various designer series papers and stamped numerous sizes of snowflakes and cut them out with the matching framelits. This was made much easier by using the magnetic platform.

Here are some more I have made with different papers and colours

I made a similar one for my mum's birthday exchanging the snowflakes for flowers. You can view this HERE

Well, the presents are almost wrapped, i just need some last minute bits from Meadowhall. Thanks for looking, until next time xxx

Wishing You Cards and boxes part II

I have finally finished all my Christmas cards. In total I have made a whopping 100 handmade cards! They are all now waiting on the side for my husband to do the delivering (he needs the exercise..ho...ho.) Now you know why I  was absent from blogging for a while

For those that didn't attend my 5 cards and boxes class, here are the remaining set of cards that we made, continuing with the present theme.

Like the pet advert 'Not just for Christmas and must be used all year round'!

Cherry cobbler ink and card, gumball green ink and card

Easel card: Baked brown sugar card, gumball green ink and card, cherry cobbler ink and card, extra large oval and decorative label punch, seam binding ribbon in crumb cake, large scallop and circle punches,

There was a choice of papers to create the boxes  The bows are made by gluing several ovals together from the large oval and extra oval punches. For one bow you will need  4 large ovals and 2 extra large ovals

The smaller treat size boxes  were made from just one sheet of  the designer series paper stacks  and scored. The flap was fastened with a velcro dot. These are great for sending little gifts of chocolate or perhaps jewellery

We had great fun making our cards and boxes and I will share some more cards with you over the next few days

Wishing You cards

Christmas is almost upon us and I have completed my final craft class for 2013. Thank you all for your support and friendship throughout the year, which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

To close out the year I have quite a few cards that I haven't shared with you from recent card classes. Here are three of the cards from the 5 cards and boxes class held a couple of weeks ago.

More blog updates will follow, if I manage to get the presents wrapped...

Talking of presents, below is the first cards made using the 'Wishing You stamp set and seasons of style designer series paper stack' which was included in the cost of the class.

Baked brown sugar ink, card and ribbon, white embossing powder, rhinestones, chalk talk framelits

Gumball green card, cherry cobbler ink and bakers twine, decorative label punch

Cherry cobbler card, ink and bakers twine, gumball green card and ink, rhinestones, decorative label punch

This stamp set is very versatile. The parcels can be used all year round and not just for Christmas. They can be stamped in a variety of ways: inking the stamp using just one colour, by using the marker pens directly onto the stamp set in various colours or decoupaging them up to make the parcels 3D
Please visit my online shop if you would like to purchase any of the products. There are still some great bargains over in the clearance rack

Team convention swaps

One of the most exciting things about Convention is to see all the sneak peaks of all the wonderful up and coming Stampin Up products, lots of fabulous tips and of course the prize patrol's and giveaways. We received so many goodies over the weekend but unfortunately cannot show any photos of them until the products are released

There were live demonstrations  from very talented demonstrators and I was inspired by all the amazing speakers

We even dressed up on the Friday evening for a night of awards followed by a fabulous party.

I watched proudly as my upline Zoe, and team members walked the stage for amazing achievements

 Here are my Team swaps

I made 18 individual boxes from the Seasons of Style designer series paper and decorated them with a bow made from two oval punches.  They were again filled with an assortment of chocolates.

The Convention will be held in Brussels next year from 16-18th October, join my team and you can come along which will be even better

Stampin Up! European Convention 2013 Manchester

Wow, what a few days I have just had. I attended my first Stampin Up! European Convention 2013 in Manchester last Friday and Saturday.

The convention began properly on Friday but you could sign in and register early from 6.00 p.m. on Thursday evening. I travelled down with three of our team members and we all met up with some lovely ladies from my up-lines team at the convention centre in the evening

It was so great to meet up with  friends, make new ones and of course be totally inspired by wonderful projects and products.

At Convention, Team members usually do small gifts/swaps for fellow team members. There were 18 members of my uplines team who attended convention and we all decided to take part in this swap.
With going on holiday I knew I had to be organised so my swaps were made a month ago! I made two different kinds of swaps, 18 for our team members and 45  general swaps.

Here are my general swaps all ready to be packed.

I used the winter frost and seasons of style designer series paper stacks to create these little pouches and filled them with chocolates. They were decorated with the label love and papillon potpourri stamps and co-ordinating punches. The flaps were closed with a velcro dot.

I really hope my colleagues at Convention enjoyed these swaps.

I received some really beautiful ones in return which I will post on my blog soon

Hello Everyone,
I am now back from a relaxing cruising holiday.  The weather in Europe for this time of year excelled and we visited some fabulous ports and cities of culture. The itinerary was very full and tiring and I even resisted the temptation to do some crafting. I think I need some exercise now to remove the extra pounds I put on.

Anyway, I am now back in my craftroom and preparing for the Stampin-Up! European Convention in Manchester, this Friday/Saturday...I'll report back next week on the highlights.

Below is a card I made a while ago, for my Mum's birthday earlier this month whist we were on holiday

It is a 3D pop up card in a box which  I originally saw  on pintrest.

I have used Flower Shop and Mixed Bunch stamp sets and the leaves are cut out with the secret garden framelits.

The box is decorated with Afternoon Picnic designer series paper

I will be running classes on Sunday 8th December 10am - 12pm and Monday 9th December 10am - 12pm to make a similar one with a Christmas theme.

Please let me know if you would like to join us  and make one of these fantastic cards in a Christmas design for that special friend or just use as a decoration

Festive Flurry snowflakes

Hi again, this is a scheduled post as I am on holiday.

Here are another set of 2 cards done at my Friday class in Keelby.

The first again uses the 'Festive Flurry' stamp and framelets, but this time in a 3D effect, surrounded by embossed snowflakes. I just hope we don't see too much snow this year.....
.

The second followed the same theme as one we made in my Christmas Stamp-a-stack class, but using a different colour and replacing the ribbon with a bow. Again the glitter on the tree added that special touch, that we all like at christmas..

When I return back to Keelby on the 29th November, I  will be making more Christmas Cards for sending to those last minute, special relations/friends.

I still have places left on my 24th/25th November classes for making the 5 cards and 2 boxes using the wishing you stamp set and paper stack. If you haven't booked already, why not come and join us... Let me know....

Stamp-a-stack 3

This is the final set of 2 designs from the Christmas Stamp-a-stack. The first one seemed to be the most popular and in fact very easy to create.

The photograph doesn't really show the beauty and a touch of glitter was added to the tree, which made it sparkle.

The background was created very quickly and easily using a mask and sponged with pear pizazz ink. The lovely as a Tree stamp was stamped over the top in the same colour ink, to give the illusion of it being a wood in the background.  The colour contrasting ribbon and the scored edge added a final touch.

The second card was created using the modern mossaic stamp set to form a Christmas tree design. The rhinestones and gold star added a little glimmer!

All six card designs were made twice and the 12 cards were completed in 4 hours. Thank you and well done to those who attended the classes.

Due to holidays, I will be having an extra class at home on Monday 18th November. Let me know if you want to come, we will be making more cards, along the same theme, as those in my Stamp-a-stack.

Stamp-a-stack 2

These are the next 2 cards from my Christmas stamp-stack.

We used the new expression thinlits to create the 'Merry' and used the 'waste' to form the stencil. If you are very careful you can create two cards by using both the stencil part and the cut out word.  This design is really effective when contrasted with pastel colours.

The silver ribbon is fabulous and the photo doesn't do it justice. It has been a popular item with Stampin' Up!, and is currently out of stock, but hopefully will be back with us at the end of next week

The second card was a little different to all the others and was even called 'funky' by one of my ladies.

I used a colour combination of real red, coastal cabana and baked brown sugar

The stamped image was created by using two different marker pens to colour the stamp.

Stamps: For My Famiy (retired),
Merry Little Christmas

Real red, Coastal Cabana

stamp-a-stack 1

For those of you that missed my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack class last week, here are the first 2 card designs from the 6 designs we made.

The classes were enjoyed by all, with 2 separate groups working on different cards and my husband providing the refreshments (even chocolates and scones...).

As you can probably tell, I love using the Festive Flurry Stamps and Framelits. In the following card I have decoupaged them, punched a hole out the centre and made it into a christmas wreath. Who would have thought you could make a wreath from a snowflake!!

The 'festive flurry' will be the the key feature of the card in a box in December. Take a look in the sidebar of my blog for the remaining dates for 2013, its not too late to add the personal touch with a 'handmade' card.

Stamps: Festive Flurry, Wishing You
Greetings of the Season,
