Mixed Bunch Gate Fold with Double Punched Gates

Hello to you on this beautiful Monday morning.  I apologise for being absent from blogging but we have had a hectic household for the last two weeks.  My husband actually took a week off work to decorate our kitchen. For  anyone who knows him  this is totally out of character as he is a workaholic. This meant that I was his assistant  in all sense of the word and there has been no time for crafting or blogging!

Here are the cards we made at our latest card class using the Mixed Bunch stamp set and co-ordinating punch which is featured in the mini catalogue. I love this set and have been using it quite a lot.

The smaller square card is a gate fold with double punched gates. Instead of opening from a fold along one edge, it opens in the middle with two sides acting like a pair of swinging gates. The front was randomly stamped using the mixed bunch stamps in real red, bashful blue and pear pizzazz colours. The two 'gates' were then punched each side with the blossom punch and when closed forms one cut out flower. Another flower was stamped in bashful blue placed in the middle of the cutout on the back panel

The second card uses the colours of Wisteria wonder, calypso coral and night of navy. I used First Edition Designer Series Paper cut with Label collection framelit dies matted onto a larger frame cut from night of navy.   The background  was stamped with Just Believe, the flowers and leaves punched with Boho Blossoms and Bird Builder Punch.  The butterfly was created by stamping one of the flowers from the Mixed Bunch set, in versamark and heated clear embossing powder. I cut two petals from the image to create the butterfly shape.  I then sponged the middle with So Saffron and the edges with Calypso Coral to produce the beautiful tones.

I must sign off now and prepare for the two parties I am doing this afternoon and later on this evening.  I will be back tomorrow to share the make and takes we will be making

Scoring Tool Projects

I held a class on Saturday afternoon making projects using the new scoring tool from Stampin Up and Twitterpated papers. We had 10 projects to complete in 3 hours. Everyone was supplied with a set of printed instructions and a half pack of twitterpated designer series paper.  The ladies were rather apprehensive to start with, unsure how they were going to manage to complete them all and how to use the board. However, after using it a few times they found the scoring tool and additional diagonal plate very easy to use. Unfortunately, we did run out of time only completing 8, but as instructions were supplied  the projects could be finished at home.

More Compartment Stepper Boxes

I have been playing with the new Scoring Tool  and diagonal plate from Stampin Up and have created these two compartment stepper boxes.  The small one has three drawers and the larger one has four.  They make fabulous presents and so easy to do especially using the scoring tool.  There are lots of tutorials on the websites but this is one I CASE'd from Kirsteen.

I decorated them with designer series paper, Paisley Petals for the small box and Everyday Enchantment for the larger box along with scalloped edge, scallop trim border and blossom punches.

Wedding Presents

Another two box frames completed for wedding presents. I must admit the chocolate and green one was made by my daughter with some help from me for her friend's wedding over the weekend.

I have now made a number of these frames and  they are very enjoyable to do and are an excellent unique personalised present.

I would like to share this project  I made in our Tuesday afternoon craft get together. It was Anita's turn to demonstrate and we all made a three stepper box. This is mine

I decorated it with Stampin up retired designer series paper 'spice cake' and used the lace ribbon border punch around the outside.  I didn't have any ribbon in pool party to match so I coloured my own by inking  some plain white ribbon with a pool party ink pad with excellent results.  The flower on the top was created from the mixed bunch stamp set inked with pool party and punched using the blossom punch and an in-colour brad to finish
